People have differing ideas as to which counties make up what we call the Midlands, but it is generally accepted that the north is bounded by Cheshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and in the south by Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Of course those are just the top and bottom of the Midlands so to speak, but in between you have Shropshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, the whole Birmingham area and then more shires including Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
All in all that leaves you with one heck of an area packed with masses of things to do and places to see, for instance, if you like scenery then the Peak District National Park with it's headquarters in Bakewell, Derbyshire is a must for you. This
is a vast area in which any building or property alterations are closely monitored so as to be in keeping with the environment, and apparently the Peak District National Park is the second most visited park in the world!
In this short narrative we must remember places like Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, which attracts countless thousands of visitors from around the world every year.
Kenilworth castle in Warwickshire is well worth a visit too, and is probably the best kept castle in the country outside of Royal ownership.
We are sure you will enjoy your visit to the Midlands when you hire that motorhome or campervan to tour around in.
